FMI is a privately owned company that was formed in October 1995. Originally the company distributed and administrated temporary income protection products for small business owners.

Today, in addition to the above, FMI also develops its own products. The company has continued with the focused strategy of ensuring the continuation of their clients’ livelihood and their clients’ businesses through the provision of income protection products.

Operating as a niche product provider, FMI strives to ensure that their products are market leading and competitively priced. This is achieved through a specialized risk assessment process, select partnerships and a customer centric product development cycle.

FMI’s products are distributed through a network of Financial Advisors across South Africa. The company services this network through a combination of Business Developers based in the various regions and telephonic Financial Advisor Consultants who are situated at FMI’s head office in Durban.

FMI's vision is to grow their market share within the self employed and business owner sector by offering simple, flexible income protection products through a transparent and easily accessible new business process.
