Our chairman, Miles Japhet, is a seasoned insurance professional with an entrepreneurial vision. He has over 40 years insurance experience and has served on the boards of a number of Short and Long-Term insurance companies in South Africa, Mozambique, Pakistan, Gibraltar and England.

As a founding member of Hollard in 1980, Miles held the position of Chief Executive of the Hollard Group from 1985 to 1998. He has been the Chairman of Lombard Insurance Company for the last 18 years and was originally appointed to the Lombard Board in 1995. He holds a BSC (Hons) (Bristol) in Economics and Politics and has an AC11.
